Jo Morgan - Team LeaderJo has been working with SYM since January 2008. She qualified as a mental health nurse in 1996 and spent years caring for people with serious mental health problems, eating disorders, drug/alcohol problems and issues with self-harm. In 2000, Jo became a Christian and now attends Chelmsford Vineyard Church. She has been involved with youth work in a church environment for many years. She is married to Andy and they have two boys, Jacob and Dan.
Emma Alleway - Schools WorkerI have worked for SYM since September 2016 and am a part of the leadership team at Skylark Church. I have been a Christian since I was 18 and have been involved in youth ministry ever since! I studied Pastoral Care and Leadership at Hillsong in Sydney and came to Chelmsford as a youth pastor. We have three children Judah, Eden and Selah and are hoping to foster in the future.
Kate Gowen - Schools WorkerKate joined SYM in September 2017. She is an active member of St Mary’s church in Great Baddow where she leads the evening Encounter services with her husband Joel , leads a team to plan and deliver the women’s prayer breakfasts and is involved in the musical life there too. Kate and Joel have two children now both at secondary school.
Lynsey Crisp - Administrator and MentorLynsey joined SYM in October 2007 having previously worked in the commercial sector as an operations manager. A Christian since 2001, she is currently an active member of St Mary’s Church, Great Baddow, where she leads a worship band and works in the children's ministry. Lynsey is married to Mark and is blessed with two daughters - Tiegan and Erin.
Rosie Hovell - InternRosie joined SYM as an intern in September 2017 after finishing A-levels in July. She is working with SYM this year to gain experience of youth work and is currently looking for a part time job, as well as hoping she discovers what she wants to do with life after SYM! Rosie has attended Springfield Park Baptist Church where she was baptised in April of 2016, leads youth sessions and Sunday school during the service, as well as singing with the worship group. She lives with her parents, Alison and Peter, not-so-little little brother Ethan and dog Scout.

John Grayston, Chair
John worked for Scripture Union (SU) for 37 years in a variety of roles, most recently as Director of Theology. He still writes for SU and acts as theological consultant. He is part of the leadership of Tile Kiln Church. He has two children and five grandchildren. He enjoys spending time on his allotment and skiing.
Andrew Chuter, Treasurer
Andrew is a qualified accountant with over thirty years experience in public sector finance. His professional roles have included Chief Finance Officer with Essex County Council and Treasurer of the Essex Fire Authority. Since taking retirement from full time employment, Andrew has undertaken post-graduate theological studies at the London School of Theology and has got married for the first time (to the wonderful Lesley!).
He attends Broomfield Road Evangelical Church, serves on the boards of a number of other charities and visits the mountains of Great Britain (and occasionally abroad) whenever possible. He counts it a real privilege to serve as Treasurer for SYM and to support the excellent work the team does in local schools.
Dave joined the SYM board in November 2015. He worships at Meadgate Church, is married to Boo and has six children, all at school locally. He has lived in the Chelmsford area for nearly thirty years. Dave has, in the distant past, worked as a church youth leader, however he now runs a business coaching and advisory company focussed mainly in the recruitment and technology sector. Dave is on the Board of various tech companies, but has a passion for young people and is delighted to be joining SYM.
Si joined the board last year having been an associate of SYM working in Hylands for some time before that. He was brought up in Australia, but has been in England since 2004. He is married to Vicki and they have two daughters
Secretary of CADEF in its early days, and Trustee since the Trust was formed. Retired in 1994 after a career with Marconi Radar Systems. Deacon at Springfield Park Baptist Church, with responsibility for Missions. Chair of Friends of IEM UK, which supports the Indian Evangelical Mission, an indigenuos evangelical mission based in Bangalore. In this role has visited India several times.
He lost his wife Joyce to cancer in 2002, and since then has been active in many roles aiming to improve cancer services, and in particular campaigns for increased research on pancreatic cancer.
Jill is a deputy head teacher at a comprehensive school in Southend and worships at St Mary's and St Leonard's church in Broomfield. She is married with a grown up family.
I have been a CADEF trustee for over ten years. I am married to Marian and have two sons and five grandchildren. I trained as a chartered accountant and worked in the financial world in London for many years. I attend Broomfield Road Evangelical Church in Chelmsford where I am part of the pastoral care team
Having worked with SYM for four years, Nigel moved into full time teaching before taking up his current position as Deputy Head of a Pupil Referral Unit in Romford. He is part of the youth leadership team at Skylark Church, Chelmsford and works with churches to help them with evangelism through preaching, training and developing strategies. Nigel is married with two teenage children.
